The present-day church was built in 1874/75 using parts of the foundations and tower of its predecessor. It is described as a structure that marks the centre of Dürrhennersdorf.

The approximately 28-kilometre “Around the Großer Wald” cycling route passes through Dürrhennersdorf and Friedersdorf. It is designed as a circular route and can be joined at any point.

After reaching Dürrhennersdorf, a regional hiking route includes a refreshment stop at the Schützenhaus.
