Dürrhennersdorf: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The church of Dürrhennersdorf is presented in terms of its significance, history and special features. In addition, the surrounding landscape is described with opportunities for hiking, cycling, observing nature and picnicking.

Culture

The present-day church was built in 1874/75 using parts of the foundations and tower of its predecessor. It is described as a structure that marks the centre of Dürrhennersdorf.

Its bell history begins with the first recorded mention of a bell in 1423 and is presented on a wall in the upper church tower. The church museum presents the history of the bells and information about their function.

The Saxon Fancy Rabbit Museum was opened in 2015 in the old Dürrhennersdorf manor farm. Museum visits can be arranged by telephone appointment in advance.

The former horse stable of the Dürrhennersdorf manor was converted into a community and club house with an exhibition and meeting room.

The church is used for services, events, prayer and devotional activities. Its clockwork mechanism can be viewed at one's own risk.

A simple church visit is possible by prior arrangement, during Open Church hours or during services. The church provides information sheets for visitors in German, English, Polish and Czech.
