Bad Muskau is characterised by Muskau Park with its German and Polish park areas. The German section comprises the Palace Park, Bathing Park and Mountain Park, while the Polish section includes the Lower Park, the arboretum and the Braunsdorf Fields.
Culture
The restored palace nursery complex comprises several greenhouses and a kitchen garden. Pineapples are cultivated in the palace nursery according to the practices of the Pückler era. The Carp Bridge is a cast-iron bridge at the mouth of the Hermannsneiße and offers a postcard view of the New Palace.
Getting Around
The meeting point for public park tours is the Muskau Park Tourist Centre on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from April to October at 2 p.m. The tours last approximately one and a half to two hours. Cycling is expressly permitted and recommended in most areas of the park; bicycles can be rented at the Palace Farmyard. Carriage rides in the park also start at the Palace Farmyard and require prior registration.
From the old weir near the Orangery, a two-and-a-half-hour inflatable boat trip leads along the Neisse to Żarki Wielkie; pick-up is by minibus. From April to October, the forest railway can also be used for the journey from Weißwasser to Bad Muskau. The Oder-Neisse Cycle Route, the Prince Pückler Route and the Frog Cycle Route lead to the park.
Nature
Paths along Lake Eich lead to seating areas and a small waterfall in the northern part of the park.
Recreation
Bad Muskau combines peat, saline thermal water and a therapeutic climate as natural therapeutic resources. The Kulturhotel Fürst Pückler Park offers spa treatments, certified wellness and preventive programmes, as well as health and wellness stays featuring peat and saline thermal water.
