Heidersdorf: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Heidersdorf lies at an elevation of 500 to 700 metres above sea level in two valleys along the Silver Road. Extensive woodland surrounds the village, and from the hills above Heidersdorf there are views across the Ore Mountain ridge. Nature

The signposted network of hiking trails connects long-distance, regional and local routes over approximately 50 kilometres; benches and three shelters are located along the trails. The Zechengrund nature trail is approximately 2.2 kilometres long and includes 60 information boards, nesting boxes and an insect hotel.

A practical starting point for a circular route is the information board next to the Heidersdorf lantern at the town hall; parking is available in the central area.

Getting Around

Cross-country ski trails are available in and around Heidersdorf. The trails in the Flöhatal meadows are designated for free use when suitable winter weather conditions prevail. Heidersdorf also has cycle paths in the Ore Mountains/Vogtland Nature Park.

The village's recreational facilities include a sports field, a ball court and a skate park.

Places

Heidersdorf was first mentioned in official records in 1451 under the historic name Heyderstorff. A small museum is housed in the old school building. An open-air exhibition of agricultural equipment stands opposite the town hall.

The spa town of Seiffen is associated with traditional woodcraft production, a Baroque round church and mining history. Neuhausen is a hiking and skiing region on the Ore Mountain ridge.
