The 11.7-kilometre circular hiking trail “Mining and the Herbalist Tradition” begins in the centre of Bockau. The route takes around 3–4 hours and links the vitriol oil works, the Friede-Gottes adit, a mining educational trail, Gretels Ruh, the herbalist garden and the Bockauer Wurzelstube. The Baroque hall church in Bockau has a 41-metre-high tower, dates from 1637 and contains an altar consecrated in 1617 as well as a painting from the workshop of Lucas Cranach the Elder.
