St. Cyriakus is the surviving fragment of a Benedictine monastery church built around 1170. It is considered an important example of Romanesque architecture in Saxony-Anhalt and is a stop along the Romanesque Route.

The surviving former monastery buildings, including St. Cyriacus, are located south of Federal Highway 80 at the exit from Wimmelburg in the direction of Lutherstadt Eisleben and are protected heritage sites. The Krughütte monument in Wimmelburg is a detailed model of the former ore-processing plant created by the artist Günther Beinert, commemorating the area's mining history.
