Wickerode: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hiking and Nature

The Karst Hiking Trail runs for 265 km through Mansfeld-Südharz, Nordhausen and the former district of Osterode. It is marked with a white K on a red bar against a white background and provides information on geology, landscape, nature conservation, groundwater, and settlement and industrial history.

Leisure and Culture

The Wickerode Leisure Centre in the Nassetal valley offers facilities for sports, games, relaxation and barbecuing, as well as a playground; the facilities also include a charcoal burner's hut.

St. Trinitatis Church dates from 1745, was restored from 1992 to 1994, can be visited by prior arrangement, and has an open church garden for quiet relaxation. The present church incorporates masonry from an earlier church; it largely retains the character of the Baroque building from 1745.

Agriculture and fruit growing shape the surroundings of Wickerode. The ruins of Morungsburg and Rothenburg are located in the area surrounding Wickerode. Further afield in the region are Allstedt Castle, Karlsburg and Poppenberg. Haardtberg, Roter Kopf and Wachberg are located near Wickerode.
