Seeburg: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Seeburg combines a Renaissance castle with a location directly on Lake Süßer See and a nature reserve. The town’s most important landmark is a Renaissance castle that developed from a fortified complex more than 1,000 years old. The historic townscape also includes the protected Fleckenkirche. It is a fortified church probably built around 1180 and combines Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance elements. Hinterm Wehr Roundel, Schiessgraben Roundel, and Schiessgraben Zwinger are also located in the area around Seeburg.

The castle orangery houses a restaurant with views over Lake Süßer See and Seeburg’s small harbor. Guided tours of the castle are currently not available.

Seeburg is located directly on Lake Süßer See and within a nature reserve. Wachhügel, Soolberg, Neehäuser Hügel, and Höllenberg are located near Seeburg.

Paths and Water

Seeburg is connected to the Romanesque Route and the Sky Disk Cycle Path. Numerous hiking and cycling trails pass through the area. Lake Süßer See has a seasonal bathing facility on its northern shore for recreation.
