The Mansfeld Mining Railway offers a historic journey from Benndorf/Klostermansfeld via Thondorf and Siersleben to the Kupferkammerhütte in Hettstedt. It has been in operation since 1880 and is a unique part of German railway history. Old steam locomotives of the Mansfeld Mining Railway can be viewed at the station on the main road leading from Klostermansfeld towards Benndorf when the railway is not operating.
Nature
The Luther Trail runs for approximately 81 kilometres through the Mansfeld-Südharz hiking region. The Karst Hiking Trail leads through the South Harz karst landscape. The natural landscape of Mansfeld-Südharz includes the Karst Landscape South Harz Biosphere Reserve, which serves as a setting for hiking.
