Zörbig: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Zörbig can then continue searching for accommodation. The KulturQuadrat Zörbig Castle is housed in the former Zörbig Castle and combines a local history museum, municipal archive, municipal library and Victor Blüthgen Hall. From April to October, guided tours of Zörbig can also be arranged through the KulturQuadrat.
The castle ensemble includes the visible castle tower, the former cells and former courtyard of the court prison, as well as a former civil defence bunker from the GDR era.
The local history museum can be visited individually, in groups or with a guided tour. The collection comprises around 15,000 objects dating from the Stone Age to the present day; the current exhibition covers prehistory and early history, Slavic settlement, and Zörbig’s history from 961 to 1800.
The Löberitz Chess Museum displays chess pieces and chessboards from four centuries, as well as chess clocks, pennants, badges and medals. Visitors can also see chess computers there.
The town church of St. Mauritius has been documented since 1202 and contains a late Romanesque rood cross. The town also highlights the Catholic Church of St. Anthony and fortified village churches in the incorporated districts.
Leisure
Zörbig’s municipal swimming pool is located directly next to the Leipziger Teich on Spörener Straße. It has a 50-metre stainless-steel pool.
History
Zörbig’s medieval development took place within a fortified town wall with three gates, a Hausmann tower, ramparts and moats. The course of these former town moats can still be partly recognised today as green spaces.
Cycling
The Fuhne Cycle Path connects the Mulde Cycle Path with the Saale Cycle Path and is associated with Zörbig’s history of the Wettin dynasty and organ building.
