Culture
Gröbzig is associated with several notable historical sights: the Gröbzig Synagogue Museum explores the town’s Jewish history, the Spinning Nozzle Museum documents more than a century of spinning nozzle production, and the castle tower, known locally as the “Mouse Tower,” houses the local history museum. In Quellendorf, the local history room houses documents from contemporary witnesses and relating to historical events. Radegast also has a local history room where visitors can learn about the town’s history.
The preserved and reconstructed Libehna post mill dates from 1814, can be visited, and is described as an excursion destination for school classes.
Nature
The Wiesen und Quellbusch near Radegast FFH site can be explored on a hiking route south of Radegast in the Fuhneaue Landscape Conservation Area. The route is approximately 6 km long. The area includes species-rich meadows, reed grass meadows, moist tall-herb vegetation, and the Quellbusch alder-ash forest.
Radegast borders the Cösitzer Teich Nature Reserve to the southeast and the Fuhneaue Landscape Conservation Area to the south. In Locherau, the Blauer Stein erratic boulder is designated as a natural monument.
Things to Do
A peace oak planted in 1871 beside the Radegast route provides shade and a place to stop and rest. Near the route in Radegast, there is a landscaped playground with a drinking-water fountain. The Fuhneradweg cycle path passes through Radegast’s market square.
A winter hike leads from Diesdorf into the forest of the Mosigkauer Heide.
