Nalbach: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Litermont Summit Tour is a 9 km circular hike with 425 metres of elevation gain. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Nalbach can continue searching for accommodation afterwards.

Nature and Trails

Experienced hikers can complete the route with short breaks in approximately three to four hours. Along the way, there are two covered hiking huts, three rest areas and numerous benches. QR codes provide geological information dating back up to 300 million years. The tour also includes natural wetlands known as a frog paradise, as well as dramatic gorges. The summit cross offers views across large parts of the Saarland and as far as France.

The starting point at Litermont and the forest car park can be reached from exit 12 Nalbach on the A8 via the B269, L337, Saarwellinger Straße, Hubertusstraße and Etzelbachstraße.

The Forest Adventure Trail is approximately 2.5 km long and can be explored by parents and children in one to two hours.

The Panorama Trail offers views across the Saar Valley as far as France and leads through shady forests, orchards, streams and expansive fields. The route is 7.6 km long, has 180 metres of elevation gain and takes approximately two to two and a half hours with breaks.

History and Culture

The Litermont Museum is housed in a former Westwall bunker, which now serves as a memorial to those killed in the Second World War. The bunker has been restored approximately to its 1939 condition and equipped with authentic furnishings.

The reconstructed Litermont Optical Telegraph Station is operational; during a visit, the telegraph's operation can be demonstrated.

Cycling

The approximately 7 km-long Prims-Theel Adventure Trail connects Schmelz with Nalbach and Lebach via Primsweiler.
