Lebach: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nature and Trails

The highest elevations in the Saarlouis district are located in the Höchsten area near Steinbach. The Lindenberg in Höchster Wald reaches 460.6 metres. The area around Lebach offers cycling and hiking tours of varying difficulty levels.

The Kaltensteinpfad Dream Trail is an 8.04-kilometre circular hiking route of moderate difficulty around the Hoxberg. It passes historical boundary stones dating from before the French Revolution and includes a viewpoint overlooking Lebach and towards the Schaumberg. The Kaltensteine are a conglomerate rock formation from the Rotliegend, formed around 270 million years ago.

Culture and History

The “Through the Centre of Saarland” route is 14 kilometres long, classified as moderately difficult, and takes around four hours. Five information boards along the route cover cultural history; the route also passes parts of a West Wall bunker and boundary stones dating from the 18th century.

The Haifischpfad is a 3.5-kilometre hike starting at Birkenhof in Lebach-Rümmelbach and passing through deposits of a 290-million-year-old freshwater lake. Nine information boards along the trail explain the Lebach Eggs. The name Haifischpfad derives from the shark fossil Lebachacanthus. Lebach Town Hall also houses an extensive exhibition of the Lebach Eggs, which visitors can view during opening hours.

Cycling and Getting There

The Prims-Theel Adventure Trail is described as family-friendly and largely accessible. It is connected to the regional cycle route network. Lebach is characterised as accessible by car and public transport, including buses, trains and the Saarbahn.
