Neukirchen-Vluyn: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Norddeutschland spoil heap is a former spoil heap of the Niederberg mine and features the Hallenhaus and the Himmelstreppe as landmarks. Mining at this mine took place from 1917 until the colliery closed in 2001. The Himmelstreppe has 359 steps. From the summit of the spoil heap, there are views across the Lower Rhine and the Ruhr area. The spoil heap has been open to everyone since 2002.
