Dorsten: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Dorsten Planet Trail follows the Wesel-Datteln Canal for 3.2 kilometres from the Hochstaden Bridge and features eight planet pillars. At kilometre 251, the Römer-Lippe Route passes through Dorsten; its total 295-kilometre route runs from Detmold to Xanten.

Cycling

Dorsten railway station is a starting point for the BahnLandLust cycle route from Dorsten to Coesfeld. Dorsten’s leisure routes also include towpaths along the Lippe and the canal. The surrounding cycle network is part of the Radrevier Ruhr node system.

Nature

The 7.3-kilometre A1 circular route follows the Lippe to Dorsten Lock, where visitors can watch a lock operation over a height of nine metres. The Hervester Bruch family circular route is approximately five kilometres long and is intended for exploring nature, with a focus on the ecological history of the landscape. The northern part of Dorsten belongs to a nature park.

Culture

At the Jewish Museum Westphalia, visitors can discover Jewish religion and culture in history and the present from a regional perspective. The museum is accessible: all exhibition and event rooms are accessible to wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments.

Lembeck Castle in Dorsten combines a Baroque moated castle, an English garden, parkland and an on-site museum. In Dorsten, there are guided cycling tours focusing on the history of grain, as well as hikes through the Emmelkämper Mark in Deuten. The Old Town Hall is a Renaissance building dating from 1567.
