The Himmelstreppe viewing platform is located on the spoil heap and can be reached via an approximately 1.7-kilometre footpath from the entrance on Gronewaldstraße. Hückelhoven also offers the guided “Die Schöne” spoil-heap hike on Millicher Halde.

Adolfosee is used for walks and nature observation.

Cycling

Hückelhoven has a well-developed network of cycle paths for short outings and longer tours. A numbered junction system is available for route planning, making it possible to plan connections with the NiederRhein Route or the RurUfer Cycle Route.
