In Inden, the Indemann observation tower stands on the Goltsteinkuppe spoil heap in Lucherberg, within the municipality of Inden. The Indemann offers panoramic views over the lignite landscape and can be climbed via stairs or reached by lift. From there, it overlooks a landscape transformed by former lignite mining.
The Düren-Merken viewpoint lies on the southeastern edge of the Inden open-cast mine. It offers a panoramic view over the mining area. Information boards explain mining technology and land reclamation.
