Culture and History
Habers Mühle is Rhede’s last windmill, a technical monument, and is considered a landmark of the town. The Dutch-style tower mill was built in 1881. Visitors can learn about the history and technology of the mill, flour production, and the miller’s former everyday life.
The Max and Moritz Toy Museum displays a private collection of historic dolls, dollhouses, teddy bears, and toys from 1850 to 1950, as well as a reconstructed classroom.
The Villa Medica presents the medical history of the 19th and 20th centuries in rural areas across three floors. The fictional Rheesing family and media stations guide visitors through the transition from pre-modern superstition to modern medicine.
Geographical Location
The 58-kilometer Bocholter Aa Cycle Route runs via Borken, Rhede, Bocholt, and Isselburg toward the Netherlands. At the Bocholter Aa, the water-powered screw converts hydropower into electricity.
