Vilmnitz: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Maria Magdalene Church in Vilmnitz is a late Romanesque-Gothic brick church. Among its oldest surviving components are the Romanesque east choir and the sacristy; the nave, dating from the mid-14th century, was renovated in the 15th century. The church contains a crypt associated with the Putbus family that is open to visitors, around 28 coffins, four large sandstone epitaphs dating from 1600, a Baroque pulpit from 1708/09, and a restored historic Mehmel organ. During the summer months, weekly concerts have been held there on Thursday evenings for more than 25 years.
