Culture and History

Jakobsdorf is a municipality west of Stralsund in Vorpommern-Rügen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The municipality is located approximately 16 kilometres southwest of Stralsund. The B194 runs about three kilometres to the east, and Jakobsdorf can be reached via the Grimmen-Ost interchange on the A20.

The municipality is bordered to the north by the Barthe stream. There are no larger lakes or forest areas within its territory; at the same time, it borders larger forest areas, including the Knirkhorst.

Near the ruins of Endingen Manor lies the Elchjägerplatz Endingen VI archaeological site. It is dated to the Early Allerød and is associated with human settlement in northeastern Germany around 11,000 BC.
