Manor house and farm buildings

Gribow Manor House was rebuilt in 1888 under Axel Bunge. The new building was part of an extensive reconstruction of the estate’s buildings. The barn and two stables are also part of the listed estate; their fieldstone-and-brick construction gives the ensemble a distinctive architectural character.

After a long period of vacancy beginning in 1994, extensive heritage-compliant restoration of the manor house and farm buildings began in 2002. These milestones tell the story of different phases in the village’s history: the manor house was rebuilt, then stood vacant for a time, and was later restored. Exhibition, equestrian centre and former uses

An exhibition on hunting and nature was set up at the historic estate farm. An equestrian centre was also established there. It offered guests carriage and covered-wagon rides in the surrounding area, including to Ranzin Castle, the dairy school in Schlatkow and the Peene. These destinations give an idea of the outings included in the offer; the rides mentioned should not be taken as a statement that they are available today.

There was also a café in the manor house. In December 2012, the REITSPORT-TEAM “GUT GRIBOW” association was founded in Gribow and offered a range of activities for all ages. Together, these details show that, in addition to its architectural history, the estate was also associated with exhibition, equestrian and club uses. They give families different ways to explore the place: through the estate, the hunting and nature exhibition, or the history of the association.

Cycling routes through Gribow

Route 3, “North of the Peene,” is about 34 kilometres long, or about 40 kilometres with a detour. The route passes through Gribow and follows a field path parallel to the Swinow as far as Gribow Estate. The two approximate distances can help you choose a cycling loop to suit your preferred length. They describe different options without specifying a journey time or level of difficulty.
