A well-maintained cycle path runs along the Elde-Müritz waterway on Route 1. The two routes therefore differ in their approximate length and the stops mentioned: Route 1 passes through several places, while Route 2 includes the Bobzin lock, among other sights, and goes past the bathing beach. Passow Castle: Palladianism and Pompeian motifs
Passow Castle reveals another side of the village. It was built in the Palladian style, an artistic movement shaped by Palladio and inspired by the rediscovery of Roman villas. The upper floor features murals based on designs from the Villa of the Vettii in Pompeii. The dome is also painted: its allegorical motifs depict the animal and plant life of various Pompeian eras. The architecture and painted decoration make the castle a cultural highlight in its own right, alongside the nature and cycling attractions.
