Hohen Pritz at a Glance

Hohen Pritz is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and is administered by the Sternberger Seenlandschaft municipal association.

Hohen Pritz is situated in a hilly lake district south of Sternberg. Kukuk and Klein Pritz are located within the municipality on Lake Kleinpritz. Lake Kleinpritz is connected to the Mildenitz by the Schlower Bach.

Hohen Pritz was first documented in 1256 under the name Pritutsen, in connection with the parish of Wamckow and its daughter church in Hohen Pritz.

The eastern part of the municipality is particularly forested; the Kukuksbuchen forest lies south of Kukuk.
