Culture

Satow's present-day church was rebuilt after the former church had fallen into disrepair. Construction work began in January 1864; the new building was erected at the highest point near the vicarage.

The ruins of the old church were built between 1219 and 1224 in the transitional style from Romanesque to Gothic and are considered the oldest evidence of ecclesiastical architecture in the region.
