The D5 Celtic Trail passes the Mornshausen Forest Kindergarten and extends to just before Mornshausen. The 13.9-kilometre hiking route takes approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes. Its course combines forest and field paths with views, fishponds, a wetland biotope, and Celtic remains, including a ring-wall fortification. Culture and History

Mornshausen has a documented mining history: copper, lead, and silver were mined at the Amalie mine near Amelose until the early 20th century. Diabase mining remained an important source of income until the middle of the 20th century. A local Steeklopper monument opposite Landhaus Werner commemorates this industrial past.
