Bötzsee borders the Eggersdorf district to the north. It is located in the “Blumenthal Forest and Lakes” nature conservation area and is therefore part of the spatial context of the lake and protected landscape.

Petershagen/Eggersdorf is a possible travel destination for anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment.

Nature and trails

The hiking and cycling trail map “In and around Petershagen-Eggersdorf” includes 13 circular routes ranging from 7 to 30 kilometres. The routes run along lakeshores and through forest, settlement and open-field areas. The local hiking and cycling trails are marked with more than 400 signposts. One of them is the “Lake View Circuit: Bötzsee”, an 11.50-kilometre circular route of moderate difficulty.

Water

Bötzsee lido has a sandy beach, extensive sunbathing lawns, trees providing shade and a jetty with a diving tower. A lift at this jetty enables wheelchair users to access the water.

Culture and history

St Peter’s Church was completed and consecrated in 1910. Its interior painting is based on Art Nouveau decorative forms. The furnishings also include a Baroque pulpit altar dating from 1718, which originally came from Friedrichsfelde.

The Büdnerhaus is the oldest surviving residential building in Petershagen and was built around 1751. It opens to visitors every third Sunday of the month from 2 p.m. The Anger barn forms part of the historic village green ensemble in Petershagen. The semi-detached Kossät farmhouse at Bahnhofstraße 50/51 is a preserved farm building on the former village green and is more than 250 years old.

In the village centre of Eggersdorf stands the Atonement Cross, which is considered a medieval stone cross.
