Traces of Industrial History

The Conradty workers’ settlement was built between 1892 and 1914. Key parts have been preserved, and its cohesive layout makes it an important monument to industrial history. One notable feature of the Upper Conradty Settlement is a three-storey apartment building with decorative half-timbering. Visitors interested in urban development and architecture will find this a special highlight.

The Historical City Tour also tells the story of Röthenbach’s transformation: it passes eleven notable places around the city and traces its development from a small mill settlement into an industrial and workers’ town. You can choose your own starting point and destination, for example the railway station, Rathausplatz or the city centre. Navigation guides you to each next stop. This lets you adapt the tour to a starting point of your choice without having to commit to a single start or end point.

Museum, Festival and Notable Buildings

The Conradtyhaus City Museum is located at Mühlgasse 1 in Röthenbach a.d.Pegnitz. It is open on Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except for the Christmas holidays, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. If you plan to visit the museum, you can factor these opening hours into your day’s schedule.

The annual Flower Festival is a local tradition. The traditional parade starts at the Old Festival Grounds in the Pegnitz valley, follows a circular route through Röthenbach and ends at Hubert-Munkert-Platz. The start time given for 30 August 2026 was 2 p.m. After the parade, a selection of the flower-fest floats is displayed at Hubert-Munkert-Platz. The festival thus adds a distinctive touch alongside the city’s enduring historical landmarks.

Notable features of the Catholic Church of St. Boniface include a Steinmeyer organ, a round-arched window by Nuremberg glass artist Alfons Abel and a 35-metre-high tower. The Moritzberg Beautification Society and Surroundings’ observation tower has stood on Moritzberg since 1911. There is also a 15th-century chapel dedicated to Saint Maurice beside the summit. These places offer further cultural and historical points of interest during your stay.
