At the foot of the castle stands the Evangelical Margrave’s Church, a sandstone building erected in 1751 on the foundations of a Gothic church dating from the 13th century. Its building history links its construction in the 18th century with a medieval predecessor. The church thus adds a specific religious monument to the history of the castle and town.

The exhibition combines original objects, elaborate reproductions, staged displays and media stations. Cadolzburg Castle offers a 75-minute introductory tour for adults on Sundays at 2 p.m. and a 75-minute introductory family tour on the first Sunday of the month at 11 a.m. Check the current dates before your visit.
Market Square and Traditions
Today, the market square provides a setting for the church fair and traditional Advent market. Event dates vary, so be sure to take the relevant dates into account when planning your trip. These events offer a different focus from the castle and its exhibition: here, the square takes center stage in local life.
The castle garden also offers a place to take a break: visitors can use a picnic bench in a separate, small garden area. This lets you combine a visit to the castle complex with a break outdoors.
