In the town centre, the Linden Tree Museum presents a cross-section of European linden tree varieties, with more than 40 exhibits. It opened in September 2014. Another special feature is Neudrossenfeld’s well-preserved dancing linden tree, which is about 350 years old. It stands on a slope above the Main Valley. The museum and tree offer two different ways to explore linden trees: the variety of species and one particularly old specimen.

The Trinity Church also shapes Neudrossenfeld’s cultural character. This magnificent building combines rich architectural sculpture with a spacious interior and artistic furnishings. The ceiling stucco by Giovanni Battista Pedrozzi is especially detailed: angels hold symbolic objects as vines bearing blossoms and fruit spread across the ceiling. The pulpit altar offers another insight into the building’s history. It was assembled from various older pieces during the church’s reconstruction from 1753 to 1757. Its architecture, furnishings and historic building elements provide different perspectives on the church.

Another sight in Neudrossenfeld is the Old Sandstone Bridge over the White Main. It adds another distinct place to the town’s attractions, alongside the linden trees and church.

Cycle Route and Shorter Walks

Neudrossenfeld lies directly on the Rotmain Cycle Route. This is a clear point of reference when planning a cycling excursion. In addition, three circular trails in Heinersreuth, Neudrossenfeld and Langenstadt make it possible to enjoy shorter walks on the Rot-Main-Auen-Weg. The Rotmainauen Hiking Trail is another option for walking. It runs from the former State Garden Show grounds in Bayreuth through Heinersreuth and Neudrossenfeld to Langenstadt. The Bavarian Brewery Museum has more than 3,000 square metres of exhibition space devoted to the history and art of brewing; a visit ends with a sample from the Glass Museum Brewery. These destinations in Kulmbach add their own distinct experiences to a visit to Neudrossenfeld, rather than replacing its local attractions.
