Trails through Bühl and the Region
The “Upper Rotmain Valley” nature trail is a circular hiking route through the former village of Bühl, which became a district of Creußen through incorporation in 1972. The trail passes Bühler Castle and descends into the Rotmain Valley. Along the route, 17 stops explain the cultural landscape. At just over 35 kilometres, the Way of St. James stage is almost twice as long as the approximately 18-kilometre Beer Springs Hiking Trail.
Visits by Prior Arrangement
The Hermit’s Cottage is privately owned and can only be visited by prior arrangement through the town of Creußen. It is considered the only surviving bourgeois hermitage in Germany. This distinctive site offers a specific destination and an unusual chapter of local history; plan your visit in advance because prior arrangements are required.
Those interested in crafts and symbols around town can book a guided tour of the Craftsmen’s Trail by prior arrangement. The tour includes explanations of coats of arms and craft symbols. The children’s town tour “Experience the Middle Ages” can also be booked by prior arrangement.
