The Lake Park leisure complex, inaugurated in 1999, features a natural swimming lake, pirate rafts, a water fountain and an anchored bathing island. There is also a sand volleyball court, an adventure playground for children and a glass-bead pool for toddlers.
The lake park also offers ways to stay active away from the water: walking paths complement the recreational sports area. This includes a grass playing field, a 400-metre tartan track, a cinder sports field and an all-weather tartan court. If you like to alternate between games, sports and quieter paths while on vacation, you’ll find several ways to spend the day here. The complex also has a kiosk.
Moorland Paths and Hikes
Access to the Arrach Moor and its nature trail is from the lake park. A wooden boardwalk lets you explore the nature reserve. Another route links the lake park with the energy park at Gut Kleß: the Climate and Terrain Trail is around three kilometres long and runs through the moorland. Hiking guides accompany the tour.
Arrach is a climatic health resort with a total of 90 kilometres of signposted hiking trails; the village also lies directly on the GOLDSTEIG, a certified quality hiking trail. The Bavarian Forest Crafts Museum at Drexler-Hof in Arrach showcases traditional local crafts. The trades represented include shoemaking, woodturning, broom-making, carpentry, blacksmithing and schnapps distilling. The collection comprises more than 2,000 exhibits, tools and machines. Its range spans everything from woodworking and broom-making to blacksmithing and schnapps distilling; the museum offers its own cultural focus alongside outdoor activities.
The Arrach Glass Gate, a glass monument in Arrach, is another feature connected with glass culture. It was installed in the village in 1997 to mark the inauguration of the Glass Road. Together with the Crafts Museum, it provides a cultural complement to the moorland, hiking trails and lake park.
