Ducal History and Historic Townscape

From 1649 to 1781, Neuenstadt was the residence of a branch of the Württemberg ducal house. The castle and the magnificent coffins in the crypt of the town church recall this connection. They give the town’s history a tangible link to the ducal family; together with the historic buildings, they shape the themes visitors can encounter during a stay in Neuenstadt.

The Museum im Schafstall was established in 1991 in a former sheep barn dating from the mid-18th century, which was extensively restored for the purpose.
