History

Leingarten was formed in 1970 through the merger of the formerly separate municipalities of Großgartach and Schluchtern and was granted town status in 2020.

The Leintal Cycle Route runs through western Leingarten and continues in the direction of Schwaigern; the Lein is visible along the cycle route.
