Discover Eugmo: Hiking Trails, Children’s Trail and Tyyneläs Tomtar
Accommodation in Eugmo
Eugmo is best discovered through its hiking trails and nature-based activities. The Eugmo Hiking Trail is around 12 km long, while the Eugmo Children’s Trail offers activities involving animal tracks and animal jumps. This gives visitors a range of reasons to stay: a hiking route through varied terrain, or activities centred on animals.
Hiking through varied terrain
The Eugmo Hiking Trail leads from a gravel road onto natural paths through forests of varying density and into rockier terrain. The changing surfaces shape the character of the route: gravel gives way to forest paths and rockier sections. The trail starts at Näs School, is easy to follow, is marked with blue paint and has several information boards. Its approximately 12 km length and varied terrain are practical details to consider when planning your day.
Starting point and seasonal conditions
Parking is available for the Eugmo Hiking Trail near the starting point, on a gravel area beside the ice rink. Free parking is also available near the start. During the school year, this area is also used by teachers at the nearby primary school. There is an important winter restriction: the Eugmo Hiking Trail is not maintained in winter and is inaccessible in winters with heavy snowfall. If the trail is one of the reasons for your trip, take this seasonal condition into account when planning.
Activities involving animal tracks
The Eugmo Children’s Trail starts near Näs School. Activities include guessing which animals made different tracks and trying out how far animals can jump. The activities offer two different ways to take part: first guess the tracks, then try out the jumping distances. For families who want to include shared nature-themed activities in their stay, this is a distinct consideration when choosing excursions.
Hiking trails and themes along Larsmoleden
Larsmoleden connects the hiking trails of Holm, Eugmo and Bosund. Along the route, information boards provide details about plants, animals and historical sites. This brings nature and history together for those interested in this trail. The route connects hiking trails in the three named places; it describes the course of Larsmoleden, not a connection between the individual attractions in Eugmo.
Visits and a running event
Elf Manor, also known as Tyyneläs Tomtar, is located on Västerbyvägen in Eugmo, Larsmo. Visitors are welcomed there in July and December; at other times, Tyyneläs Tomtar can be visited by prior arrangement. Another recurring event is the Eugmo Trail Run, held annually, usually at the end of summer. The visiting months and the usual timing of the run offer different seasonal reference points if you would like to plan your stay around one of these experiences.
