Kasnäs between the Harbour and the Archipelago

Ferries and charter boats make Kasnäs an important transport hub for the outer archipelago. The harbour is therefore a defining part of the character of the village: the passenger ship Jurmo operates year-round between Kasnäs and Örö. Ferries to Örö depart from the harbour in Kasnäs; the crossing takes about 30 to 60 minutes. The approximate duration and the connection may be useful when planning a trip to Örö.

The guest harbour is also part of the village’s maritime character. It is a modern marina on the Hanko–Utö route and has about 100 berths. Its services include electricity, water and Wi-Fi, as well as access to the sauna, washroom and children’s area in the service building. This also makes the harbour interesting for visitors who want to learn about life on the water and the facilities at a marina.

Nature Trails of Different Lengths

The Kasnäs nature trail offers three route lengths: 3 km, 5 km and 8 km. It was created through collaboration between the hotel and the Kasnäs village community. The choice of length gives you a practical reference point for planning your day: you can consider the shorter or one of the longer routes, depending on how much distance you would like to cover. There is also a separate 0.7 km geological nature trail in Kasnäs. It adds a considerably shorter route to the options; the two trails should be treated as separate offerings.

For exercise, there is also a 5 km illuminated fitness trail. It starts at the Kasnäs Spa car park. Its lighting and starting point are useful details to keep in mind when planning to use this trail. The route information clearly distinguishes the three offerings: the three lengths of the nature trail, the separate geological trail and the illuminated fitness trail.

Activities and Local Cuisine

You can play padel in Kasnäs; court reservations are made at reception. Minigolf is also available: the course has 18 holes, is suitable for families and celebrations, and equipment is available at reception. Visitors travelling with children or looking for an activity to enjoy together will find specific options here, alongside the trails and harbour. Padel and minigolf can be treated as activities in their own right, without needing to link them to a particular route.

Local produce also features in the food offering. The grocery shop at Spa Hotel Kasnäs sells locally produced fish products. The hotel restaurant serves a daily archipelago-inspired lunch buffet, as well as à la carte dinners featuring locally produced and seasonal ingredients. The food offering therefore includes both fish products to take away and restaurant dishes made with ingredients from the region and the current season.
