Bylderup Church and Historic Townscapes

Bylderup Church looks far back into the past. Its oldest parts date from the 13th century, and it was originally the main church of Slogs Herred. Architecturally, the church has a late Romanesque apse, a choir and a nave. Beside the south portal there is also a medieval weapons porch.

The church’s restoration history is also part of the character of this place of worship. During a comprehensive restoration in 1952, an attempt was made to return Bylderup Church to its original Romanesque form. During the renovation in 2015, the furnishings were restored or replaced in cooperation with the National Museum. Another historical trace leads to Kirkekroen. Its history dates back to the 18th century. The community centre is known for the annual Højskoledage.
