Jammerbugt Municipality combines wide sandy beaches, dune landscapes, forests and trails with a remarkable density of natural and cultural experiences. The northern coast consists of sandy beaches with good bathing facilities; these include Slettestrand, Grønhøj, Svinkløv, Tranum, Rødhus and Blokhus. If you are looking for a holiday rental or holiday home in Jammerbugt Municipality, you can therefore choose your preferred focus very specifically: days at the beach, active routes, distinctive landscapes or museums featuring regional history.
Holiday rental in Jammerbugt Municipality between coast and activity
Slettestrand is ideal for varied days by the water. On the wide, car-free sandy beach, you can walk on the white sand, run along the water, go horse riding in the dunes and practise yoga. An access path takes wheelchairs and pushchairs almost to the water’s edge. Slettestrand also has a signposted 21-kilometre mountain bike route. Sailing, windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding are possible throughout Jammerbugt.
Blokhus Gateway also brings together different opportunities for exercise and shared activities. The site is the starting point for several hiking and cycling routes, as well as a nearby mountain bike route, a fitness route and a running trail. There is also a nature playground, an activity area, signposted routes, picnic and barbecue areas, and a natural outdoor oven where you can bake your own bread. Such specific destinations help you tailor your search for accommodation to your own daily plans without limiting your holiday to a single activity.

Fosdalen has been protected since 1902. In total, Jammerbugt Municipality has 30 protected areas. Svinkløv Klitplantage contains chalk and glacial deposits, among other features; above them is a layer of windblown sand. From the cliffs at Svinklovene, the view extends far across Slettestrand.
Those who prefer longer routes will find Kystsporet, a 157-kilometre cycling and hiking route through the coastal landscapes of Jammerbugt and Thy. The 11-kilometre Tranum-Fosdal hiking loop passes over Bavnehøj, the highest point in Jammerbugt, and continues via Ingeborgs Bakker to Fosdalen. On the way back, it follows the upper edge of Lien through Langdalen. The different route lengths provide clear guidance for short excursions and longer hiking days.
Store Vildmose is a special type of natural area that has survived in only a few places in Denmark. The area can be experienced from visitor sites equipped with information boards, works of art, boardwalks and picnic facilities. For orientation, Udinaturen in Jammerbugt brings together signposted routes, nature playgrounds, fire pits and opportunities for spending the night outdoors.
Culture, crafts and experiences for different age groups

The old brewery, including its polished brass taps, has been preserved intact down to the smallest detail and is now the main attraction of the local history museum. In Saltum, Egnssamlingen conveys the history of the former Pandrup Municipality through permanent exhibitions and changing thematic exhibitions. The Saltumstien hiking trail begins at Egnssamlingen in Saltum.
The Museum for Papirkunst is the Nordic countries’ only specialist museum for paper art, paper crafts and paper design. The permanent exhibition presents masterpieces by papercut artist Bit Vejle; other galleries feature changing exhibitions by national and international artists. In the paper workshop, visitors can create their own paper art using the provided materials and templates.
Klim Kalkovn is a museum worthy of preservation and, at the same time, a natural area. It presents and conveys knowledge about limestone, as well as about the nature and area around Klim Bjerg and Klim Klitplantage. Guided tours and guided excursions are available; several educational programmes for children and young people are also offered to institutions. At Han Herred Havbåde, you can visit the exhibition about the project in Havbådehuset and, at selected times, watch the boatbuilding. Groups can order a guided tour.
