For shorter outings, the green Kløverstierne route is ideal. It is 2.5 kilometres long, passes Sæby Watermill and returns to the harbour through Sæby’s oldest district. The blue route is 5 kilometres long and leads through Sæbygård Forest.

Gybels Plantation is also home to a 3.5-kilometre trail designated as a Heart Trail. The plantation also includes a dog exercise area or dog forest and offers the opportunity for strength training. History, crafts and special places

Kystmuseet Sæby is located in the half-timbered building “Konsul Ørums gård”. Its exhibitions cover the town’s historical development from the Middle Ages to the present day. Guided tours, lectures and activities for children complement the programme. Sæby Church contains fine frescoes from the early 16th century depicting the story of Mary’s parents. The church is also the last surviving part of a large four-winged Carmelite monastery founded in Sæby around 1470 with the support of the Bishop of Børglum.

Notable art and craft venues include “Fruen fra Havet”, a double-sided figurehead made of white concrete by Norwegian artist Marit Benthe Norheim. At Sæby Glaspusteri, Leni Bille processes glass at 1,100 degrees Celsius into unique glass objects. The active glassblowing workshop includes a studio, gallery and shop; visits outside the stated opening hours can be arranged by telephone. The Sæby Jernkilde building was constructed in 1887 in the Art Nouveau style to a design by Ulrik Plesner. At Sæby Watermill, visitors can trace the development of milling technology in the 1920s.
