The approximately 36-kilometre Herregårdsruten leads from Rudkøbing to Lohals and is suitable for both conventional bicycles and electric bicycles. There is public transport in Lohals, so the Herregårdsruten can be shortened for a shorter tour. In the nearby area, a 2-kilometre walking trail also follows the traces of the Bromme cultures through Hov Østerstrand and along the north coast of Langeland.

The history of Lohals includes its former importance as a shipping port: as early as 1630, Lohals was authorised as a shipping port for goods and people. The harbour is designated in the UNESCO Global Geopark The South Funen Archipelago as a harbour town with special cultural heritage. Hollænderhuset has an exhibition about the forests of northern Langeland and the people who worked there.

A special testimony to earlier times is the Djævlestenen. The stone has more than 100 so-called cup marks.
