In the center of the Hradečno valley stood a stone water castle from the medieval countryside. In the immediate vicinity of the water castle, there were six additional ponds – an unusually close combination of history and bodies of water.
Water Castle and Local History
A distinctive landmark of Hradečno is the wooden bell tower, built in 1749. It is the only half-timbered bell tower in Kladensko.
Nature and Bodies of Water
The forests in Hradečno and its surroundings are home to many picturesque places. The Ve Šperkotně natural monument protects moisture-loving communities where the rare adder's-tongue fern occurs. Srnčák Pond lies in a wooded valley 300 meters south of Hradečno.
The Pozdeňský les [Mšec] and Loustín mountains are also located in the vicinity of Hradečno. In the wider regional area lie Tuchonín Mountain, the Zřícenina Pravda ruins, Boušov Mountain, Zámek Ostrov Castle, Hazmburk Castle Ruins, and Týřov Castle Ruins.
Tradition in Hradečno
The tradition of Staročeské máje has been maintained in Hradečno for 50 years.
