Above Lyaskovets, the Petropavlovski Monastery stands on the rock. It was founded during the Second Bulgarian Empire and is associated with Bulgaria’s national liberation struggles as well as the country’s first theological school. Culture and History
The Lyaskovets Horticulture Museum is housed in an authentic 19th-century Bulgarian National Revival house in the town centre. Its exhibitions explain Bulgarian itinerant horticulture through documents, photographs, tools and objects from abroad, as well as an ethnographic collection on the domestic life of the gardeners.
The museum’s collection also includes flags of horticultural associations, tools, documents, foreign currencies and a scale model showing the organisation and operation of a traditional vegetable garden run by itinerant gardeners.
The “Constituent Assembly Museum”, the “Exhibition Halls Museum”, the “Velchova Zavera Monument”, the “Horsemen Monument” and “Triangle Park” are each located approximately in the vicinity of Lyaskovets town centre. A garden called “Bookmaker Point Alphawin Buzludzha” is also located approximately in this surrounding area.
Nature
The Lesoparka protected area lies directly above Lyaskovets. It preserves a mixed deciduous forest with downy oak, field elm, Turkish hazel and maple, as well as numerous old or notable trees.
