Nature and Landscape
The northern territory of the municipality encompasses the southwestern Zlatishko-Teteven mountain range; its highest point is Mount Svishti Plaz at 1,888.3 meters.
The southern part of the municipality reaches the northern slopes of Sredna Gora, including Mount Malka Bratia at 1,406 meters.
The Topolnitsa River crosses both parts of the municipality and runs through a deep, wooded valley in the foothills of Sredna Gora.

The remains of a medieval fortress have been preserved on Mount Golesh; the medieval settlement of Zlatitza was located there.

Paragliding is practiced in Zlatitza by the Svobodno Izmerenie extreme sports club; the club also develops mountain biking activities.
In nearby Petrich, the two-arch bridge over the Topolnitsa was built in 1926 in the style of the Bulgarian National Revival bridges. The road running alongside it had already been used since antiquity.
Zlatitza railway station is a historic railway building with a west-facing colonnade, carved woodwork and a stone tower. The station and the Sub-Balkan Railway were opened in 1952.
