Negushevo: Vacation Apartments and Holiday Homes

Negushevo is described as a place that preserves the atmosphere and charm of bygone times. Its history is reflected both in its use as a filming location for Bulgarian films and screen adaptations and in the preserved traces of a Thracian sanctuary and a medieval fortress.

Culture

The Chitalishte Vazrazhdane-1922 preserves and conveys traditional customs. It was founded in 1922 to promote the education and intellectual and moral development of its members and the villagers. Weekly creative workshops for children are held there, as well as Bulgarian folk dance classes and meetings with writers and artists. The folk dance group of the Chitalishte Vazrazhdane-1922 represents Negushevo with a repertoire of more than 70 folk dances.

The community center of Negushevo is also part of local cultural life: it offers training sessions and meetings on agriculture and sustainable living and organizes cultural events, cinema, and art activities. In the municipality of Gorna Malina, intangible traditions are expressed during religious and secular holidays and preserved by locals and Chitalishte groups. The municipality’s intangible cultural heritage also includes culinary traditions.

The Church of St. Venerable Paraskeva preserves a collection of old Church Slavonic books. The church gallery contains engravings depicting the Old and New Testaments from 1901; it also houses a small church memorial exhibition.

History

The Tree of Life monument in Negushevo was erected in 2015 to preserve the history of the Gorna Malina referendum. It is a monument to direct democracy in Bulgaria. The referendum associated with Negushevo is described as an event that protected the natural environment of the municipality of Gorna Malina and initiated its development into a green municipality.

Nature

Negushevo Viewpoint is located on the Rudinata elevation north of the village. It overlooks the surrounding mountains and offers a wide view over the village.
