Chavdar: Vacation Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Chavdar Folklore Center is Bulgaria’s first interactive folklore center. Those wishing to rent a vacation apartment in Chavdar can continue their accommodation search afterward.

Culture

The Chavdar Folklore Center presents local tangible and intangible cultural heritage through information panels, animated videos, a computer game, and authentic exhibits.

The Topolnitsa Archaeological Park comprises an exhibition building and reconstructions of Early Neolithic dwellings. It also preserves the remains of an Early Neolithic settlement that existed more than 7,000 years ago. Workshops focus on leatherworking and the production of stone tools and ceramic vessels; visitors can spend the night in the Neolithic dwellings.

Chavdar is also home to the Church of St Archangel Michael, built in 1883.

Near Chavdar lies Kazanite, a natural landmark consisting of five small waterfalls. The site has been designated a natural landmark since 1970. Next to Kazanite, a large shelter with a grill is available for visitors to rest.

Activities

Near St Petka, the sports tourism attraction comprises two climbing walls, a viewing tower, and a two-storey ropes course. Within the municipality, Bratia Hut has 49 beds and Sakardzha Hut has 36.

Geographically, Chavdar lies between the Stara Planina to the north and the SÅ­shtinska Sredna Gora to the south; the Topolnitsa River runs between them.
