Culture and History

In the 1930s, Bozhurishte Airport operated commercial flights by Lufthansa, Air France, LOT and Aeroflot.

NCh Hristo Botev 1934 is a cultural and community centre in Bozhurishte. Local amateur groups and professional actors perform there; the centre also includes a summer reading room.

The Peony and Flower Festival has been celebrated annually in Bozhurishte since 1981, traditionally on the last Saturday in May. The festival promotes Bulgarian folklore and includes workshops for children.

Leisure

The General Krum Lekarski Equestrian Centre in Bozhurishte hosts national championships and international competitions. It offers riding lessons for adults and has three outdoor riding arenas and two indoor riding arenas.

Orlite Park is a main visitor attraction in the central tourist area of Bozhurishte. Bozhura Garden has a children’s playground as well as food and beverage establishments.

Nature

Rivers and floodplains in the municipality of Bozhurishte have been designated for birdwatching. The waterbirds observed include herons, cormorants and ducks.
