The village festival in Sadievo is held on October 19, the day associated with Saint Ivan Rilski. It begins with the ringing of bells and a festive liturgy in the Church of Saint Ivan Rilski.

The festival includes an open-air horo dance on the village square. The Zdravets Folk Group of the Nikola Y. Vaptsarov–1926 Community Centre performs traditional folk songs there. The Народно читалище „Никола Йонков Вапцаров – 1926“ Community Centre is also associated with local cultural activities, including music, dance, poetry, folk singing, Christmas carol singing, and Lazaruvane.

The village festival programme included the opening of a renovated sports court in the courtyard of Hristo Botev Primary School. Students from this school performed the dance “With Bulgaria in the Heart” during the village festival. Hristo Botev Primary School also includes Christmas Eve, locally called Badni vecher, in its festival calendar.

Nature

The land around Sadievo lies within the protected area BG0000441 Reka Blatnitsa under the EU Habitats Directive. Three habitat types as well as invertebrate, fish, amphibian, reptile, and mammal species are listed in this area.

History

Zlata Mogila, described as one of the 50 largest burial mounds in Bulgaria, is located near Sadievo. The burial mound is 17.60 metres high and has a base diameter of 90 metres. Zlata Mogila, near Sadievo east of Nova Zagora, is also a large burial mound associated with a bronze-covered shield, two chariots from the Roman period, and a Roman tomb.

Events

Near Sadievo, the Sadievo Community Centre, the Pensioners' Club Zdravets, and Hristo Botev Primary School received a special award for culinary skills at the 2024 Samardala Festival in Nova Zagora. Near Sadievo, the local Zdravets singing group performs at the regional folklore festival “Enyovden by the Tundzha” in Banya.
