In an ecological exhibition covering 1,000 square meters, more than 30,000 species are displayed, including griffon vultures, black storks, golden eagles, otters, and brown bears. The Kotel Renaissance Museum is divided into four thematic halls: Enlighteners, Educators, Rebels, and Revolutionaries. The exhibition on the Kotel Renaissance is housed in the Pantheon of Georgi Stoykov Rakovski.

Kotel is known for architecture from the National Revival period as well as for notable examples of late National Revival wooden vernacular architecture. The town has a tourist information center.
