Shipkovski Mineral Baths was officially designated as a resort in 1946 and is located 2 km west of Shipkovo. Shipkovo has mineral springs and boreholes with temperatures ranging from 18 Â°C to 35 Â°C. The resort has several outdoor pools, including pools with warm mineral water. A four-outlet spring at the resort provides four types of water.

Nature

Shipkovo lies on the eastern slopes of Vassilyov Mountain. The Shipkovo area encompasses the valleys of the Malka and Golyama Rivers, which merge to form the Razhdavets River. Road III-358 connects Shipkovo with Troyan.

The Rock Chapel of Sts Peter and Paul stands in the Shipkovo area at an altitude of 1,300 meters. It can be visited when there is no ice or snow. From Vassilyov Hut, a prepared path with a rope handrail leads to the chapel in around 15–20 minutes on foot.

Culture

The Ascension of Christ Church is designated as a cultural monument of local significance and was consecrated in 1858. It preserves an authentic iconostasis and icons. The church can be visited by arranging a visit through the Shipkovo mayor's office. Shipkovo is also home to several workshops where souvenir and household ceramics are produced.

Local Life

The municipality's most extensive raspberry plantations are located about 8 km from Shipkovo. Raspberry cultivation is described as a traditional local livelihood; ripe raspberries can be enjoyed in midsummer.
