Teteven: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Around 68% of the area of the municipality of Teteven is covered by forests; approximately 75% of these forests consist of beech trees. The municipality includes the Beli Vit, Cherni Vit, Oselna and Gradeshnitsa rivers, as well as their tributaries. It is located in the central Fore-Balkans and on the northern slopes of the Zlatishko-Tetevenska Mountains in the Central Balkan.
Nature
The Zlatishko-Tetevenska Mountains are part of Central Balkan National Park. There is a zone for environmentally friendly tourism with a total of 580 km of tourist routes. The Zavodna entrance to the national park is about an hour's walk from Ribaritsa in the Teteven Balkan. In the Cherni Rat protected area, there are bird observation towers and picnic areas; the documented area covers 293.2 hectares.
The 15-metre-high Skoka Waterfall is located in the Koznitsa district of Teteven, at the end of the Pod Praskite na Vodopada Eco Trail. The route starts in the centre of Teteven, is 4 km long and takes around two hours. It crosses four wooden bridges and has two open rest areas, as well as a covered pavilion with a brick fireplace near the waterfall. Gorskata Pateka is described as an easy walking trail suitable for children and older visitors, and leads through beech forests that are around 150 years old.
Leisure
The Vurbaka sports and leisure complex is located about 8 km from Teteven on the road to Ribaritsa and offers barbecue facilities; the site is also associated with recreational fishing.
