Lovech: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Covered Bridge is unique of its kind on the Balkan Peninsula. It connects the newer part of Lovech with the architectural and historical reserve of Varosha and also serves as a covered shopping street.

Culture and History

Lovech Fortress stands on Hisarlaka Hill on the right bank of the Osam. It formed part of a defensive system that protected the approaches to Tarnovo and the Troyan Pass. The fortress offers audio-visual performances on request.

Varosha encompasses the old town district of Lovech on the eastern bank of the Osam; it emerged during the Bulgarian National Revival. Varosha can be explored via narrow lanes, past picturesque bends and passages, as well as through shady corners.

The Ethnographic Complex “Drasova and Rashova Houses” consists of two houses in Lovech. Drasova House presents the life and household of a wealthy merchant from Lovech through original objects used by local families. Its exhibition includes vessels for the production and maturation of wine from the Lovech wine-growing region. The Prof. Teofan Sokerov Art Gallery in Lovech houses more than 2,700 works of painting, graphic art, sculpture, and applied art.

Deli Hamam is a 16th-century bathhouse that has been transformed into a virtual water attraction through multimedia effects and programs.

Nature and Trails

Stratesh Park has a direct connection to Varosha, leading to the Vasil Levski Monument and Lovech Fortress. It offers a panoramic view in all directions and includes a lake, a rose garden, and an alpine garden.

In the vicinity of Lovech, access to Devetashka Cave from the Lovech–Devetaki road includes an approximately 3 km-long educational eco-trail. Devetashka Cave is designated as a natural landmark.
