Culture and History

The Letnitsa Treasure was found in the town of Letnitsa in 1963. It comprises small silver decorative objects, some of which bear gilded ornaments; parts of horse harness were found near the treasure. The treasure's small plates depict the deeds of a hero. It is kept at the National History Museum in Sofia.

In Letnitsa Municipality, the Krushuna Falls Eco Trail has 15 bridges and stairs leading to two viewing platforms. The Maaraata karst plateau contains sinkholes, dry valleys, a canyon, precipices, and cave galleries. Also in Letnitsa Municipality, Boninska Cave is 2,753 metres long and contains an underground lake about 800 metres long. Urushka Cave has a waterfall approximately 20 metres high. In Letnitsa Municipality, the Green Fall Eco Trail runs through a forest and past a small pond; ancient fortress ruins can be seen at a high point along the trail. Green Fall is approximately 20 metres high. In Letnitsa Municipality, Krushuna Falls is designated as a natural landmark and is described as Bulgaria's largest water travertine cascade.

River Landscapes

Kaleto Park in Letnitsa occupies areas adjoining the old riverbed of the Osam River. A metal footbridge over the river connects the park's two sections, which also offer views of a bend in the river.

Regional Cuisine

The area around Letnitsa is associated with traditional regional recipes made from local products, demonstrations of Banitsa, Sharena Sol, and Lutenitsa, as well as fruit growing, raspberry production, and horticulture.
